Eastern Michigan University’s College of Technology

Undergraduate Awards

Fuller, Grace Endowed Scholarship (Deans Office)

Junior or senior majoring in Dept of Human, Environmental, and Consumer resources or any subsequent name the department might bear; minimum 3.0 GPA and selection based upon scholarly performance and leadership potential.  

Porter, John and Lois Presidential (Deans Office)

Awarded to Juniors/Seniors majoring in ATM, HRM, or IDE with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection based upon scholarly performance and leadership potential. Financial need may be determining factor between equally qualified candidates.

Sanderson , Frances G. Endowed Scholarship (Deans Office)

Undergraduate in IDE, ATM, HRM programs who demonstrates leadership ability, motivation, and commitment along with scholastic performance. Financial need may be considered.

Sarns, Richard & Norma Scholarship (Deans Office)

Awarded to College of Technology students who have a 3.0 GPA or above. Must be enrolled in the semester with a minimum of 12 credit hours; priority for scholarship awards will be given to high school graduates and then to currently enrolled EMU students.  

Seaver, Jay J. Scholarship (Deans Office)

Awarded to College of Technology junior or senior student who exhibit superior academic performance; preference given to minority students and selection based on students’ academic record.  

Wright, Fred C. (Deans Office)

Awarded to junior or seniors enrolled in the construction management program with a minimum 3.0 GPA. 

College of Technology Coatings Scholarship (SET)

Awarded to Polymers and Coatings declared major who have an overall major GPA must be 3.0 or better; should have an interest and desire to work in the paint and coatings industry.

Ervin Industries Scholarship (SET)

Awarded to students (entering college for he first time or transfer students) must have an interest to work in Industrial Technology and intend to major with a degree from the School of Industrial Technology; a minimum 2.5 GPA required (may be overridden in special circumstances); must be enrolled as a part time student (6 minimum credit hours)

Graham, John C. Memorial Scholarship (SET)

Awarded to Polymers & Coating majors (all academic levels will be considered)who have a 3.0 GPA or above.

IFMA-Southeastern Michigan Chapter Expendable Scholarship (SET)

Awarded to Facility Management majors with preference given to students who are enrolled full time; good academic standing; junior or senior status with financial need.

 

Parker, Charles H. Scholarship (SET)

Awarded to students in the Polymers & Coatings curriculum. 

Seaver, Virginia Endowed Scholarship (SET)

Awarded to the students who place first in the Junior Review process in the Interior Design program.

The Lilly Industries, Inc. Scholarship (SET)

Awarded to full time students majoring in Polymers and Coatings; junior status; must be willing to work at Lilly Industries, Inc. during the summer following sophomore semester. 

Thomson, Carolyn Mar Scholarship (SET)

Awarded to CAD/CAM majors with a minimum 3.0 GPA or above; preference given to female applicants. Industrial Technology students majoring in other areas and meet other requirements may receive an awards.  

Weeks, Dr. John A. Scholarship (SET)

Awarded to Construction Management majors who are members of Eastern Constructors; The American Institute of Constructors and have earned a minimum of 48 credit hours toward a CM degree. The applicant must also have at least one full academic year left subsequent to the application deadline. Each scholarship will not be less than $500.  

Buchanan, Polly and Jim Scholarship (STS)

Awarded to Hospitality Management program major at sophomore level or above (at least 25 credit hours completed including graduate students); have a 2.3 GPA or higher and dedication to completing degree, interest in the hospitality industry by shown work experience and/or support for the student club or other industry related activities. The student can only receive the award once. 

Coca Cola Endowed Scholarship (STS)

Awarded to students who earned 56 credits toward their degree; having completed their first HRM cooperative study rotation and are in good academic standing. Financial need may be considered – it will not be one of the required criteria for awarding the scholarship.

Cullen, Mary Scholarship (STS)

Awarded to students with a declared major in Communications Technology; cumulative EMU GPA of 3.0 or better; financial need as determined by the School of Technology Studies.

Gayleard, Rhona M. Scholarship (STS)

Awarded to Business Education majors who have a 3.0 GPA or above. Each scholarship award of six will be granted in the amount of $750.

McNamara Scholarship (STS)

Awarded to Aviation students only; minimum 3.0 GPA; minority preferred; must reside in Wayne County as their permanent residence.

Rini, John /AMS Detroit Area Chapter Scholarship (STS)

Awarded to a student that participate in the EMU Administrative Management Society college chapter; junior standing or above; declared major in administrative management area with evidence of leadership and service. Award amount will equal to $300 with an additional scholarship possible.

Robinson, Julius M. Scholarship (STS)

Awarded to students majoring in Business Education (then secondary education if such curriculum is not offered) who have completed 75 credit hours, junior standing with one full semester taken at EMU and have achieved an outstanding record that semester.

Technology Solutions (STS)

Awarded to Communication Technology majors achieving junior status with a minimum 2.7 GPA with preference given to Technology Solutions employees. Recipients are encouraged to participate in internship while receiving scholarship.

Willoughby , George A. Memorial Scholarship (STS)

Awarded to Industrial Education students with outstanding achievement and/or outstanding promise for contribution in the field of industrial education. 

Wingo, Dr. Rose C. Scholarship (STS)

Awarded to Business Education majors with a minimum 2.5 GPA; completed BEDU 200; student to express in writing a desire to become a teacher; enrolled a minimum of 8 credit hours during the semester of the award.

Graduate Awards



Associated General Contractors of America Scholarship (SET)

Awarded to Industrial Technology graduate students; awardees are required to participate in development and implementation survey targeting the AGC Greater Detroit Chapter’s membership needs.

Boone, Morell D. (STS)

Awarded to students seeking a Master of Liberal Studies(MLS) in Technology degree with a 3.0 GPA or better. Student must be enrolled in minimum of 6 credits per semester.

Coating and Research Institute Scholarships (CRI)

Product R&D proposal required, approval by faculty supervising study, program advisor, School Director and Director CPRD; minimum of 10 credit hours at EMU toward a graduate degree; no less than 3.25 GPA; research results must be presented at Graduate Research Fair; (Note: see also regulations affecting independent studies, per scholarship guidelines).

To be considered for a College of Technology Scholarship, complete a Scholarship application and return it to the Student Service Center located at 150 Sill Hall.
