Konnie G. Kustron is a Professor in the School of Technology Studies at Eastern Michigan University. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and a Council Member of the Law Practice Management Section of the Michigan Bar. She is also an adjunct faculty member for Michigan State University-Detroit College of Law (MSU-DCL) in East Lansing , Michigan . Dr. Kustron has also taught at Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan), and Oakland Community College (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan).
Professor Kustron received a J.D. from Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State College of Law), and a B.S. (with honors) in prelaw from Michigan State University.
Prior to coming to EMU in 1994, Dr. Kustron was Corporate Counsel for TranServ Inc. in Southfield, Michigan from 1989-1997 and a Branch Manager for Mead Data Central (LEXIS/NEXIS) located in the Detroit, Michigan office (1981-1989). She has also been in private practice for several years.
Dr. Kustron is the author of many publications including chapters in the award winning book The Internet Guide for Michigan Lawyers published by the Institute for Continuing Legal Education in Ann Arbor, Michigan, "Integrating the Internet into a Legal Research Program" published in the Journal for Paralegal Education , "Searching the World Wide Web" published in the Journal for Records Managers and Administrators and "Cyberspace Law-Connections to the Classroom" published in the MBEA Forum . Mrs. Kustron has been a frequent speaker for the Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and locally and nationally for the Association for Records Managers and Administrators. Professor Kustron, a graduate of the Detroit College of Law (J.D.) and Michigan State University (B.S.), is the recipient of an EMU Alumni Teaching Award, an EMU College of Technology Outstanding Faculty Award, and she has been both a Writing Across the Curriculum and a Research, Teaching and Learning Fellow at EMU.
More recently Dr. Kustron has been involved in research on academic integrity, which she has presented at the national conference for the Center for Academic Integrity, and which has been published by the Delta Pi Epsilon Graduate Research Society. She is currently completing a research project evaluating gender differences in attorney misconduct in the Michigan attorney discipline system.
Professor Kustron's service to the University communities is extensive. Currently she is a member of the President's Commission on Instructional Delivery, Chair of the University Task Force on Pre-professional Programs, and a Chief Justice for the EMU Student Judicial Board.
